This workshop focused on experiences that enable humans to perceive Earth’s biogeochemical processes that occur in time and space scales different from those of our everyday life. Students engaged with projects at the intersection of art/design and earth system science. They developed environments, object and interfaces  that enable Metabolic Connectedness, an enhanced sense of connectedness of our vital processes with the metabolisms of plants and animals, which can be experienced in closed ecosystems.
